Running Humanoid Robot of Toyota, now faster in the robotics industry.

Friday, 5 February 2010

Science and technology is upgrading with brand new ideas day by day. Not an exception in the automakers and robotics industry. As we seen Honda’s ASIMO robots and so on. Now Toyota also developed few robots with their innovative ideas and technology. Their humanoid prototypes hopes to demonstrate new function with better capabilities common to our daily life. Toyota’s new humanoid robot is 130cm tall and weighs 50Kg, its stands like human with more than one joints in the legs and have seven degrees of freedom allowing it to run at an average speed of 7 km/h. As a comparison, their rival – ASIMO’s highest speed is only 6km/h. with the aim of achieving this,Toyota researchers had to build up new real-time methods for balance control. These methods give a safety for this running robot to remain in balance if it stand a race of 100 meter and if it goes dirty. So it will apply its balance control in motion.
